Frequently Asked Questions

How does your occupational health service work?

We can tailor a package for your unique needs – depending on whether you would prefer ad hoc services, or the security of an annual contract.

Do you offer a 'drop in' occupational health service?

We can usually accommodate clients at short notice, but you will need to make an appointment for all of our services.

Is it free to use your occupational health services?

We offer professional services to businesses, and there is a charge for this, as there would be with any private workplace health provider.

The benefits to your business are low, competitive rates, combined with high quality care from a trusted provider, with a wealth of medical experience.

Please call us now on 020 7377 7259 for more information about our rates for individual services.

If a member of staff has an accident, can they see someone straight away?

We do not provide emergency treatment. In case of an emergency, please contact your GP, your nearest NHS 'walk in centre' or, depending on the severity of the accident, call 999 or go straight to your nearest A&E.

Details of NHS walk in services can be found at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk or by calling NHS Direct on 0845 4647.

Got a question? Please email us and we’ll get back to you with an answer the next working day.

Why is good health good for my business?

Sickness can be a big drain on resources, particularly for small businesses. And if you’ve got happy, healthy staff, studies have shown that they’re at least 12% more productive than unhappy employees.

How much money can my business save if we use your services?

The bottom line is we can help you save money and help make your workforce more productive. By using our services, you can reduce staff absence rates. A 2009 report (from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) stated that the average annual cost of absence per employee per year is £692. So for a business with 50 employees, this could cost up to £34,600 annually.

What are my responsibilities as an employer?

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is the primary legislation covering work-related health and safety. Full details of your responsibilities as an employer can be found on the Health and Safety Executive’s website at www.hse.gov.uk. One of my employees is regularly off sick, which is costly for my small business... what can you do to help?

We can talk to your employee, take specialist advice from other healthcare professionals, and produce a detailed report on their ability to work. We may suggest reasonable adjustments to their workload, tasks, hours or environment. If you need to obtain specialist equipment, we can advise on funding, and make recommendations.
